The Class of 2023 SLP Senior Spokesmodels had their first official shoot and I am beyond thrilled with the photos we were able to capture.
The girls and I made it out to Haus 820 and Hollis Garden in Lakeland for this session. I’m so thankful they were up for the adventure. I’m also beyond thankful that they put up with the Florida heat and humidity that was in full effect.
One thing I have learned in my years as a photographer is that sometimes what you envision in your head for a shoot doesn’t always come to play. I had high hopes for the photos at Haus 820 color wall, but the sun was just way to bright at the time of day we were there. These girls were rockstars though. They held reflectors to block the sun, they hyped each other up as they basically melted. They were such troopers that though the photos (and my reel idea) didn’t come out as I had hoped, they still look freaking beautiful.
All the Goodness
So, after the sunny color wall we made our way to Hollis Garden and I prayed that there would be shade. For the photos and for the girls to have a bit of a reprieve from the sun. Thankfully we found what we needed and the results are to die for. I had a heck of a time picking the photos for this blog since there were so many to choose from.
I also got to witness just how amazing these young ladies are when we found out that there was going to be a surprise proposal at the park. They were so excited to watch it unfold and they made their presence known as they hooted and hollered their congratulations to the newly engaged couple. Makes my heart so happy to see the love and caring of each of these girls.
So, after a hot and sweaty day of shooting we got to end the day with some yummy ice cream to celebrate a successful first team shoot.
We were missing a couple of our seniors but I hope to have them all together for our next shoot in the Fall.
